The first foundations have been successfully laid at Suomen Hyötytuuli’s 40MW Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm in Finland.
The progress (pictured) was heralded in a LinkedIn post by a project engineer at Jan De Nul, which has been contracted to install the 10 gravity-based foundations using jack-up Vole au Vent.
The same vessel is scheduled to start installing the project’s 10 Siemens 4MW turbines in mid-June.
Tahkoluoto is the first offshore wind farm to have been designed for demanding arctic conditions.
