Boulders have been removed from the construction site of Eon’s 385MW Arkona Becken Südost project in the German Baltic Sea.
Danish marine contractor Peter Madsen Rederi said it removed boulders from the turbine positions and some cable routes using the Aase Madsen vessel (pictured).
The project was completed on budget and ahead of scheduled, PMR said, in preparation for the expected commencement of turbine foundation laying later this year.
The rocks were all removed under water without visual identification using positioning and survey equipment, in combination with the vessel’s crane and boulder grab, designed to operate in water depths of 3m to 60m.
