RES has started building the 99.1MW Redbed Plains wind farm for EDP Renewables North America in Oklahoma.
The project, which is located in Grady County just southwest of Oklahoma City, will consist of 48 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy turbines and is expected to be completed for the fourth quarter of 2017.
An interconnection agreement for the project has been finalized with American Electric Power.
About 250 jobs will be created during the peak of construction, RES said.
RES senior vice president construction Jason Zingerman said: “Redbed Plains marks a significant milestone for RES, as it is our eighth wind project in Oklahoma.
“We look forward to continued work with landowners and major stakeholders to bring the economic benefits of renewable energy to the Sooner State.”
