Mitsubishi Heavy Industries subsidiary Diamond WTG Engineering & Services will carry out service and maintenance at five US wind farms owned by Leeward Renewable Energy for a further 10 years.
The combined capacity of the projects, which are located in California, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, is 564MW.
They are the 221MW Cedar Creek wind farm in Colorado, the 135MW Sweet Water 3 facility in Texas, the 38MW Buena Vista scheme in California and the 90MW Aragonne Mesa and 80MW Caprock projects in New Mexico.
Diamond will be responsible for scheduled maintenance, minor corrective repairs, gearbox management and supply of spare parts.
Leeward chief executive officer Greg Wolf said: “These agreements further enhance Leeward’s ability to manage the level and variability of post warranty wind farm costs.”
