A joint venture between Canadian company Northland Power and Singapore’s Yushan Energy is planning to build two offshore wind farms totalling 1.2GW in the Changhua Sea off Taiwan.
The developers aim for the two Hai Long developments to be operating by 2023 and 2024.
They added that the start dates are subject to interconnection availability.
Hai Long project director Tsung-Hua Chen said: “Hai Long looks to build on its international experience and close working relationships with local contractors to develop a model of engineering which will place Taiwan at the forefront of offshore renewable energy development in the region.”
