Grid operator TenneT is seeking to qualify companies for the supply of offshore substations at the 1.4GW Hollandse Kust Zuid and 700MW Hollandse Kust Noord zones off the Dutch coast.
The platforms will connect the wind farms to the onshore grid via 66kV cable and be able to carry 220kV high-voltage switching and transformation equipment and auxiliary facilities, TenneT said.
The scope of the contracts includes design, engineering, production, delivery, transport and installation of topsides and jackets.
The topsides should each be 45 metres long, 21 metres wide and 30 metres high, weighing 3000 tonnes.
The jackets should weigh about 1650 tonnes each, the qualification document said.
