Goldwind has reached financial close on the 20MW White Rock solar farm in Australia, following the award of a grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
The solar facility will be located adjacent to the under-construction 175MW White Rock wind farm 18km west of Glen Innes in the state of New South Wales.
Total investment in the solar plant is $41.4m, of which $5.4m in funding comes from ARENA.
The remaining funding consists of $25m in debt from Agricultural Bank of China (Sydney Branch) and $11m equity from Goldwind.
Construction is scheduled to start in July and the project is expected to be complete in January next year.
About 75 people will be employed during construction, with three staff providing operations and maintenance services once White Rock is online.
