Tekmar Energy supplied a cable protection system (CPS) to the first 8MW phase of the Formosa 1 offshore wind farm in Taiwan, its first move into the Asian market.
The UK outfit said it delivered the Teklink system to protect the underwater power cables as they enter the wind turbine foundations.
Local contractor Woen Jinn Harbour installed the cables and CPS, which took place in October 2016.
The project consists of two 4MW Siemens turbines located in the Miaoli region of Taiwan.
Tekmar head of offshore wind sales Jack Simpson said: “The Formosa 1 project, although small, is particularly significant for Tekmar as it marks our entry into the Asian offshore wind farm market.”
Local developer Swancor Renewable together with Dong Energy and Macquarie are the investors in the project.
