Enercon is to open a new training centre specifically for owners and operators of its wind turbines in Paderborn in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The German company said the new facility will offer training in how to operate Enercon machines, turbine technology and safety, as well as maintenance and service measures.
The centre is expected to be complete by the end of the year, with training courses offered from early 2018.
Enercon expects about 1200 people to use the Paderborn unit a year.
Enercon already maintains comparable training sites in Aurichin in Lower Saxony and Gotha in Thuringia, where service and installation technicians are trained.
Enercon Service Deutschland managing director Michael Hölscher said: “The technical challenges facing the wind energy sector are on the increase for our customers in particular.
“We see it as our responsibility to help, which is why we are expanding our training activities in this area.”
