SSE and Coillte are in the “final stages” of construction after completing installation of two-thirds of the turbines at the 169MW Galway mega-farm in the west of Ireland.
The utility said today the project is on track for full operations in the autumn after confirming 46 of the project’s 69 turbines are in place.
Galway wind park will be Ireland’s largest onshore site once completed.
It will feature 69 Siemens 3MW turbines with 101-metre rotors across 22 and 47-turbine phases respectively.
