GE is planning to load out the topside for the 900MW DolWin gamma offshore substation in the German North Sea in the next fortnight.
Dolwin gamma will serve as grid hub for the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 and 400MW Merkur offshore wind farms.
On June 15, the kit will be tugged toward the construction site North of Borkum island, some 162km away from the Dorpen West onshore substation, in water almost 30 metres deep, weather permitting.
The substation is scheduled to be in place by late June and jacked up on a split jacket that was installed last year, before becoming operational in September 2018.
