UK cable company JDR is to adopt new software to help with the design and manufacture of subsea cables and umbilicals in the offshore wind and oil and gas industry.
The company has handed a contract to Cimteq to implement the CableBuilder software.
CableBuilder allows companies to manage cable product data through the workflow milestones, such as design, production, customer quotation, ordering, quality assurance and ERP system.
JDR said the new program would help streamline the design and build of new products.
“It will allow our designers to improve the performance of the business through faster, more advanced controls and reduce risks,” said JDR commercial director Adam Wells.
