Net profit at German developer ABO Wind hit €16.5m last year, more than double the €7.8m profit posted in 2015.
Turnover was €122m in 2016, up from around €100m the previous year, the company said.
ABO Wind managing director Matthias Bockholt said: “The internationalisation of our business is bearing fruit, making this record result possible.”
The company said developments in Argentina had been a significant factor in 2016’s result.
ABO Wind said it expects the outlook in 2017 to be “very good”, with 20 projects totalling 180MW scheduled to come online in Finland, France and Germany.
It is also scheduled to start construction shortly of the 16MW Cappawhite wind farm in Ireland, with commissioning expected in 2018.
Another Irish wind farm might go online in 2019 or 2020, the company said.
ABO Wind said 2017 net profit should be in the “double-digit million range, however, not quite as high as in 2016”.
