There is likely to be 100GW of offshore wind capacity installed globally by 2030, according to a report by renewable energy analysts Prevailing.
The report said these projects will represent the equivalent of $400bn of investment.
Prevailing carried out the study to determine the accuracy of current industry best practice offshore energy yield prediction methodologies and identify ways to improve accuracy.
The report examines 25 projects currently operating in the UK totalling 5GW. It will be available for free at Offshore Wind Energy 2017.
