Dutch engineering group GustoMSC has unveiled its latest jack-up vessel design, intended to facilitate the installation of heavier wind turbines with capacity beyond 10MW.
The self-propelled NG-20000X jack-up – first flagged in reNEW’s digital daily preview – has a variable load capacity of 16,500 tons, allowing contractors to carry six turbine component sets with a turbine weight of 1000 tonnes, or seven pieces of 900 tonne jacket foundations.
It also comes equipped with a telescopic leg crane that will be able to lift up to 1250 tonnes when the boom is stretched to 160 metres. Loads can double to 2500 tonnes at 120 metres.
