Wind Energy Marine has contracted France’s Piriou to build two WFSV 26W support vessels for deployment to wind farm projects in the North Sea.
To be built in Vietnam and delivered in the Spring of 2018, each vessel can accommodate 24 technicians and three crew members and comes with a cargo capacity of 20 tonnes.
They have a maximum speed of 27.5 kilometers per hour with a range of 150 nautical miles from a safe haven.
The contract is Piriou’s fist with UK-based Wind Energy Marine.
“Over time we plan to grow our fleet of vessels, which will be equipped with the latest vessel management systems designed to improve safety and vessel reliability”, Wind Energy Marine managing director Andrew Bagshaw said.
