Danish fabricator Bladt Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding with two Taiwanese companies to expand into the Asian offshore wind market.
The MoU with Taiwanese Century Wind Power Company – a subsidiary of Century Iron and Steel Industrial – and CSBC Corp is the first step in the three companies joining the local offshore wind market, Bladt said.
The partners will cooperate on fabricating jacket foundations and outfitting transition pieces for the offshore sector in Taiwan.
Bladt said Century Wind Power will establish fabrication facilities at Taipei Harbour.
The Danish company added that it has a “strategic objective to expand its markets beyond Europe and is currently very focused on finding the right entry especially into the Taiwanese offshore wind market”.
Bladt Industries senior vice president Lars Kristensen said: “It is our goal to find a strong and reliable business partner based in Taiwan with a strong experience in manufacturing large-scale steel structures, with good manufacturing facilities combined with a harbour location and a strong intent to become a major player in manufacturing foundation components for the local offshore wind market.
“I am certain that Century Wind Power Co and CSBC Corp have the exact qualities we have been searching for as business partners.”
