CISC Haizhuang Windpower of China has successfully connected two prototype 5MW offshore wind turbines to the grid.
The H1128-5MW machines, featuring 128-metre rotors, are spinning in Fujian Province.
They were installed earlier this year, according to the company.
CISC is also developing a sister model featuring a larger 151-metre rotor, it is understood.
