World Marine Offshore’s Umoe Rapid Wavecraft crew transfer vessel has started a 12-month contract working on an unnamed German offshore wind farm.
The vessel was delivered by Norwegian shipyard Umoe Mandal in May.
It has previously worked on Statoil’s 30MW Hywind Scotland floating offshore wind farm in the Buchan Deep off the coast of Scotland and in the German North Sea.
Umoe Rapid (pictured) has a maximum speed of 45 knots and can perform safe boat landings up a 2.5-metre height. It carries an average of 33 technicians a day.
