UK outfit Hutchinson Engineering is to supply secondary steelworks for EnBW’s 497MW offshore wind farm off the coast of Germany.
The company will provide spring systems for the 88 anode cages that will feature at the 71 turbine project.
Work will be completed at the company’s newly-opened facility at Liverpool’s Garston dock before being shipped to Smulders Hoboken yard in Belgium.
“We are delighted with our continued supply chain activities with Smulders and with further export work to Europe offering UK content and expertise,” said Hutchinson managing director Dean Drinkwater.
Some 20 jobs have been created at the Merseyside facility, which earlier this year shipped seven sets of blade frames to MHI Vestas in Denmark.
The company said it was targeting more work with tier one suppliers in the offshore wind sector.
“We want to offer fast-track, off-line fabrication to the next round 3 projects,” Drinkwater added.
