US Wind has contracted Oceaneering International to carry out geophysical marine surveys of the site of the up to 750MW Maryland offshore wind project in the US.
The work is scheduled to start in the second half of next year at the lease area about 40km off the coast of Ocean City.
Oceaneering president and chief executive Roderick Larson said: “We are delighted to play an active part in US Wind’s large-scale offshore wind power project.
“We look forward to placing our teams to work locally in Maryland, and applying our extensive offshore marine environment experience and very best technology, which will benefit the environment as well as the local economy and community.”
US Wind is planning to build the wind farm in stages, with the first phase scheduled for 248MW.
