SGS Germany has awarded a project certificate to the 402MW Veja Mate offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The certification company has carried out a range of quality assurance and risk assessment certification services since 2015 to ensure the project complies with German Maritime and Hydrographic Agency standards.
Regulatory environmental certification and quality deputy manager Florian Biehl said: “SGS Germany has examined literally thousands of documents involving steel construction and corrosion protection; geotechnical, electrical and mechanical engineering; occupational safety, transportation, installation and decommissioning concepts for the foundation, offshore substation, inter-array cables and wind turbine generators.
“Without this effort, finalisation of the project certification would not have occurred swiftly.”
