Banks Renewables has started pre-commissioning testing of the six Senvion M100 2MW turbines that make up the 12MW Moor House wind farm near Darlington in northeast England.
Full commissioning will follow on the £17.5m project, which is scheduled to come online early next year.
Banks has already launched a £750,000 community fund linked to the wind farm, which will be the company’s ninth.
The Banks Group community relations manager Lewis Stokes said: “The construction team has done a great job in often challenging conditions to ensure that the Moor House turbines were put in place on schedule, and we’re very pleased to have reached this latest landmark.
Moor House is the first renewables project in England backed by a Contract for Difference to reach this stage.
