European sustainable energy accelerator InnoEnergy and Red Eléctrica de España have today launched the Grid2030 initiative aimed at boosting research into sustainable transmission grid projects.
The first phase of the four-year, €2m project will look to deploy new technology or devices and develop new resources to promote a flexible electricity system “compatible with a zero carbon emission energy model”, the partners said.
It will initially consist of two open calls for proposals targeted at entrepreneurs and innovators from public and private entities, universities, research centres and European companies.
The first call is open from today and runs until February 2018.
Following selection of suitable proposals the execution phase will start in June next year.
