TenneT is planning to invest up to €6.5bn in the Dutch transmission grid over the next 10 years to accommodate growing wind and solar capacity.
The transmission system operator plans to spend between €3.5bn and €4.5bn on the onshore grid and a further €2bn offshore.
Two-thirds of the onshore investment will expand the grid at the 380kV, 150kV and 110kV levels, TenneT said.
The 380kV lines will open up large-scale wind production capacity in Zeeland and the north of the Netherlands, it added.
The offshore construction aims to bring about 3.45GW of wind capacity to the grid by 2023.
