UK engineering outfit Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) has acquired Manor Marine (MM), having worked closely with the shipbuilder for several years.
MRE, which supplies generators, vessels and personnel to the offshore renewables sector, said the move was made to facilitate a plan for the growth of both companies.
MRE director Eric Briar said: “This is an excellent opportunity to supplement our current provision with several additional key services, including fabrication and marine engineering, essential for our growth and continued expansion.”
The newly-formed group will employ over 70 staff across three offices and has between 40-50 subcontractors, mostly working on offshore projects.
MM’s facilities include vessel building sheds, slipway, workshops, office space, warehouses and a 500 square metres of covered storage area.
