Leask Marine has been appointed offshore installation contractor for all balance of plant work for Minesto’s DG500 tidal project in Holyhead Deep off the coast of north-west Wales.
The work covers installation and hook up of concrete gravity-base foundations, a buoy containing a microgrid and communications system and power transfer fastening.
The 500kW project is planned for commissioning and operation in 2018.
Minesto chief operating officer David Collier said: “We are very pleased to be working with Leask Marine as offshore installation contractor for this significant project in Holyhead Deep.”
