Financial close has been reached on the 752MW Nubian Suns solar programme in Egypt.
The programme will consist of 13 projects located in Aswan that are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2019.
Approximately 6000 jobs will be created during construction of the projects.
Mott MacDonald was lender’s technical advisor to the International Finance Corporation, providing technical, environmental and social due diligence.
The work involved involved reviewing technology proposals and plant designs, undertaking energy yield assessments, studying the capabilities and track record of each of the project’s participants and carrying out a detailed review of all financial models.
The consultancy will now monitor construction and operations.
