A young owl has been rescued from Swire Blue Ocean jack-up Pacific Orca during turbine installation work at Innogy’s 353MW Galloper offshore wind farm off the Suffolk coast of the UK.
The bird, which was found on board the vessel earlier this month, was delivered to the RSPB and re-homed.
Swire Blue Ocean is installing 56 Siemens Gamesa 6.3MW turbines at the project, which delivered first power earlier this month.
The wind farm is scheduled to be fully commissioned in March 2018.
