Vroon Offshore Services vessel VOS Start is being chartered by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind to support the commissioning phase of the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 wind farm in the German North Sea.
The project, which is expected to be commissioned in 2019, will comprise 56 V164-8.0MW turbines.
Vroon said the award underlines the strength of the relationship between the company and MHI Vestas.
The two companies worked on commissioning of 40 V164-8.0MW turbines at the Walney 3 offshore wind farm off the coast of Cumbria in the UK.
The VOS Start is a subsea-support walk-to-work vessel fitted with a Barge Master motion-compensated gangway system and an active heave-compensated crane.
