Delaware has appointed a range of interests to an offshore wind working group established by Governor John Carney.
The group will be chaired by Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Coalition executive director Bruce Burcat, holds its first meeting on 6 October and is due to report back by 15 December.
Members include politicians, utilities, academics and labor representatives as well as bird and wildlife interests.
Executive Order 13, signed last month, tasks the group with studying potential environmental and economic development benefits of offshore wind.
It will also look at costs and benefits for electricty ratepayers.
