Turbine manufacturer Enercon is to slash 133 jobs at its installation and construction unit in Austria, a spokesperson for the company said.
Enercon will close the unit by the end of the year, with some 63 permanent employees and 70 contract workers set to lose their jobs.
The cuts represent about one third of Enercon Austria’s workforce, it is understood.
Enercon said it has hammered out a redundancy package with the workers’ council and 15 permanent employees have already found new work.
Enercon will continue its operations in Austria, the company said.
