Siemens Gamesa is to supply 4.2MW turbines to the 96.6MW Sorfjord wind farm in the far north of Norway.
A total of 23 SWT-DD-130 machines will feature at the project, which is being built by Fortum.
The deal includes a five-year service package and hardware will include the so-called OptimaFlex optimisation kit.
Hubs at the project at set at 80 metres and rotors are 130 metres. Installation kicks off in summer 2019 and access to the 600-metre high site is by boat or helicopter.
“We are proud to deliver the latest innovations from our onshore direct drive platform with the SWT-DD-130 to Sorfjord.
“They will be installed alongside the Nygårdsfjellet wind power plant which we installed in 2011,” said Siemens Gamesa.
Developer Fortum said initial civil works have been ongoing since the spring.
Foundations and the electrical works will be installed during 2018 and 2019, with the project to be commissioned in late 2019.
