The GFG Alliance’s Simec Energy has taken a majority stake in Australian company Zen Energy.
The joint venture, which will be know as Simec Zen Energy, will work to improve energy security and reduce the cost of power for GFG Alliance members and other businesses in Australia.
The main focus will be on renewable energy for Simec’s mining operations in South Australia and Liberty OneSteel’s operations in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
The company will build on Zen’s experience in designing and installing solar and battery storage solutions for residential and commercial customers.
The GFG Alliance is a global group of energy, mining, metals, engineering and financial services businesses, headquartered in London.
