UK outfit Granada Material Handling is to design, manufacture, deliver and commission four davit cranes for Siemens Gamesa’s 28MW Nissum Bredning demonstration project off Denmark.
Each Python crane, which will be three metres high and weigh 1.5 tonnes, will be specifically designed for the project, Granada said.
The units will have a maximum lifting capacity of one tonne and will be used to hoist components from supply vessels to the laydown area on the platforms of the transition pieces, the company added.
Granada Material Handling director Mark Sidwell said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded another prestigious European wind power plant project.
“Securing this contract has been a real team effort by the Granada Renewable product and service division.”
