Apple is to build an 122,000-square-metre data center in Iowa that will be 100% powered by electricity generated by renewables.
The technology giant said it will work with local partners to invest in wind and other renewables sources to power the $1.3bn centre in Waukee.
Construction on the data center is expected to start early next year, the company said.
Apple plans to bring the center online in 2020.
