UK outfit JDR has finished making the inter-array cables for the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm in the Moray Firth.
The 33kV cables were manufactured at JDR’s Hartlepool facility, where they will be loaded out into the turntables on Siem Offshore Contractors’ cable lay vessel Siem Aimery.
Installation of the cables is expected to start later this year.
Beatrice will feature 84 Siemens 7MW turbines once commissioned in 2019.
It is being developed by SSE, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power.
