The foundation has been launched for Ideol’s 2MW Floatgen floating offshore wind turbine, destined for the SEM-REV experimental test site off Le Croisic in France.
The foundation (pictured) was launched at Saint-Nazaire harbour.
Local construction company Bouygues built it using lightweight self-placing concrete.
Fellow French outfit Bourbon Offshore last month completed installation of Floatgen’s mooring system, which uses six synthetic lines designed and developed by Ideol.
