Global Marine Group company CWind is to install a fibre optic cable at Eon’s 400MW Rampion wind farm off the Sussex coast in the UK.
The cable, supplied by Hexatronic, will run from the shore to an offshore substation. It will bypass a defect in one of the two export cables for the project that have already been laid.
The job, first reported in subscriber-only reNEWS, is expected to be completed later this month.
Rampion will consist of 116 MHI Vestas 3.45MW turbines once completed.
