The Wood Group is to carry out power performance testing for the 1GW Fosen wind project in Norway.
The company’s clean energy team will install 29 guyed lattice met masts and undertake data monitoring and analysis for the site calibration phase.
It will then install power monitoring equipment on several wind turbines for the power curve test phase.
The testing will compare the actual power curve of a wind turbine with the warranted power curve provided by the manufacturer, Wood Group said.
The Fosen project is being developed by Statkraft and consists of six onshore wind farms on the peninsula of Fosen, the island of Hitra and in Snillfjord.
It is expected to be completed and commissioned by 2020.
Wood Group asset management director Robbie Gibson said: “We are very pleased to be working with Statkraft on this important project, which is one of the largest of its kind.”
