A Japanese consortium has taken a 60% stake in a portfolio of five wind farms owned by Invis Energy in Ireland.
Sojitz Corp, Kansai Electric Power and Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance have been named as the preferred bidder in the sale of the 223MW portfolio.
Financial terms have not been disclosed. Invis will retain a 40% stake.
Four of the wind farms are already in operation with the final project in construction and due to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2018.
It is the first investment in European wind energy by the three companies, according to Invis.
