Dutch outfit C-Job Naval Architects has unveiled an initial design for a next-generation offshore wind farm operations and maintenance (O&M) vessel.
The vessel would be able to accommodate 64 technicians, a 50% increase on current O&M and service operation vessels, the company said.
“The result is a next generation initial design of a vessel that is able to operate more efficiently at future wind farms where new solutions are needed,” C-Job said.
The design was completed by the company’s graduate student Jidde Looijenga as part of a project called ‘O&M solutions for Round 3 far offshore wind farms’ at the NHL Hogeschool.
