EDF Renewable Energy has acquired the 179MW Switch Station 1&2 solar projects in Nevada from First Solar.
The projects, which are currently under construction, will both sell electricity and renewable energy credits to subsidiaries of NV Energy.
Switch Station 1 is scheduled to come online later this month, while Switch Station 2 will start commercial operations in late September.
The solar plants are located in Clark County on land managed by the US Bureau of Land Management.
They comprise First Solar modules on horizontal single-axis trackers.
EDF Renewable Energy executive vice president Ryan Pfaff said: “The acquisition of Switch Station 1 and Switch Station 2 marks EDF RE’s entry into Nevada.
“We are pleased to be working with First Solar, one of our key solar partners, to deliver affordable, reliable solar energy to NV Energy and its customers.”
