James Fisher Marine Services has completed the £250,000 refurbishment and upgrade of its offshore support vessel Dart Fisher.
The company said the upgrade has been timed to coincide with several offshore wind projects starting around the UK’s coast, particularly the east coast were the company is based.
The upgrade includes a new fuel transfer system, a Palfinger deck crane and a six metre seating saloon module and three metre welfare unit.
The fuel system allows the vessel to refuel in an up to a 30-metre head and enables refuelling on offshore assets.
A four point mooring system is also ready to be installed, James Fisher said.
James Fisher Marine Services managing director of services Martin Sisley said: “The Dart Fisher’s latest upgrades has meant that she remains the first of her kind, and sets a new standard for offshore support operations.”
The 25.7metre-long ship (pictured) is able to carry three standard ISO six-metre containers with a 30-tonne load and up to 24 passengers to sites 150 nautical miles offshore.
