JinkoSolar is to supply solar modules to the 38.4MW Tomakomai photovoltaic project being developed by Fuji Electric in Japan.
The project, which will be located on the southern Japanese island of Hokkaido, also includes a 10 megawatt-hour energy storage system to help adjust to variable loads.
JinkoSolar will deliver the modules between July to November this year, with the plant scheduled to be connected to the grid in 2018.
This plant has been funded by Japanese institutional investors, Germany’s Aquila Capital and Japan’s Green Power Development Corp.
JinkoSolar vice president global sales and marketing Gener Miao said: “We look forward to collaborating with Fuji Electric on future projects.”
