EDF Energies Nouvelles has agreed a power purchase agreement with Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency for electricity from the 100MW Stoneray wind farm.
Stoneray, which is located in Pipestone and Murray counties in southwest Minnesota, will comprise 50 turbines.
Construction should start in 2018 with commissioning scheduled for winter 2018–2019, EDF said.
More than 150 construction jobs will be created, as well as 10 full-time positions when the wind farm is operational.
