Fugro has won a joint contract with Boskalis from TenneT for survey and identification of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the Borssele wind farm zone off the coast of the Netherlands.
The contract includes specialised survey and identification work on the cable routes for the planned grid connection between TenneT’s two offshore platforms and its high-voltage substation onshore.
The work will start in the summer and last approximately two years, Fugro said.
Fugro regional project director for Europe Gertjan Paff said: “By integrating vessels and innovative systems developed in-house, we have successfully executed similar marine site characterisation projects in recent years.”
