Installation of the 900MW DolWin3 offshore grid hub has been completed in the German North Sea.
TenneT said the self-jacking operation was completed “at a fraction of the costs of the more usual installation methods”.
The platform (pictured) is located north of Borkum Island. It had been due for installation in June but weather delayed efforts.
The substation will be in operation later this year will serve as grid hub for the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 and 400MW Merkur Offshore wind farms.
