Bibby Marine’s Wavemaster 1 vessel has arrived in Rotterdam for last-minute tests before starting at Innogy’s 336MW Galloper wind farm off Suffolk later this month.
A Bibby source told reNEWS the service operations vessel would undergo “a few days of final system tuning” off the Netherlands before debuting at Galloper on 16 September.
Wavemaster’s arrival in Rotterdam marks the end of its maiden voyage, which saw the vessel sail from Damen’s Galati Shipyard on Romania’s Black Sea to the Dutch port.
Wavemaster 1 is due to spend at least three months at Galloper, where subcontractor James Fisher has chartered the vessel for winter commissioning work at the project’s substation and 56 Siemens 6MW turbines.
The vessel’s Galloper stay could be extended until Spring, but Wavemaster 1 (pictured) will sail in April for a North Sea oil and gas job with Total E&P Nederland.
