Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has officially opened a project office in Taiwan and has also announced a collaboration with state-owned company China Steel and Diamond Generation Asia.
CIP is currently working on three offshore wind farms in Taiwan off the coast of Changhua with total capacity of 1.5GW.
The process of applying for environmental permits for the three projects is currently underway and needs to be completed by the end of the year, CIP said.
CIP also plans to set up an operations and maintenance base for the projects in Changhua and will launch an apprenticeship programme for wind turbine technicians at the Chienkuo Technology University in Changhua.
